A pretty rural town, Boorowa is in the beautiful Hilltops wine region and will charm you with historical buildings, heritage walks and a famous Irish wool festival.
Primarily a farming town, Boorowa is only a little over an hour`s drive to the National Capital and is within three hours of Sydney Airport. It is well situated off the Hume Highway and close to regional centres of Young, Yass and Cowra. Although only a small town, it is renowned for its warmth and friendliness.
Boorowa is prized country that is predominately gently undulating volcanic soils. It has a reliable 600 – 650 ml rainfall which makes it one of the safer areas in the state. A broad range of winter cereals and canola are grown. Fat lambs, merino breeding or cattle are all very successful enterprises. Boorowa is also home to some of the more prominent Merino Studs like Merryville and Tara Park.
